Wednesday, 1st May 2013 was a rather chilly but sunny day in the bustling streets of Chailly en Bière, a small town in Seine et Marne well known for its market gardeners. All sorts of salad vegetables are grown here. But on this Bank Holiday the streets were crowded. There was a big boot sale there. And then suddenly ten or so rubberbooted guys appeared. First we saw two of them, followed by a father and his son and then two others with rubber boots under their trousers. Most of them wore Aigle gumboots on full view. Two of them had turned the tops down. All of them were smiling, obviously happy to visit the boot sale. Here they are, sketched live. Young, nice looking guys who wore their rubber boots without any hang-ups. It was a pleasure on the eyes. We hope to see them again soon in the area... |
