First, of course, for love of rubber boots and those who wear them. This is a true passion that I live every day ; I wear my rubber boots everywhere, on all occasions, 365 days a year...
Then, to promote the wearing of rubber boots, rubber waders or even PVC boots : don't be too scornful about these boots which are often cheap and sometimes smell really good as well ... Is that putting it clearly enough ? Make sure that guys wear rubber boots as often as possible ; make sure that wearing rubber boots, is no longer, as it is too often the case in our Latin countries, considered socially «dishonourable». I mean that everyone should moreover be proud to wear their rubber boots...

They are most often very comfortable, very well adapted for walking, more or less light...
In brief, for every activity - rubber boots.

Take for example the image of the Finnish people who go without any problem to the museum or a show in rubber boots, when spring comes back, or also of my Danish friends that I invited for Sunday lunch and even if not fetishists at all, came by bicycle and in rubber boots when it rained...

Let us get rid of that ever repeated phrase : "Aren't you too hot in summer in your rubber boots ?"... by those same guys who, as «victims of fashion» wear huge Caterpillars with socks, during the same summer ! ...
Forget those pseudo discussions on the comfort of walking boots compared with rubber boots, when you see the ravages that the aforementioned new walking boots make on your feet compared to the comfort of a rubber boot like the «Parcours» model from Aigle ...
Far from being ashamed of wearing rubber boots, let us be proud of them ! We don't have to hide them ! |

Why a « House of the Rubber Boot » ? First, because genuinely and in real terms, this house is going to exist ; then because the word "House" is pleasanter, more alive and less rigid than the word "Museum" ; finally, because in this house the rubber boots will be in their own home like all those who really love rubber boots and wear them openly.

This site is the natural complement, even if virtual, of this House. It enables us to show the house, the many models of rubber boots, "my mates in boots" and all sorts of activities and "rubber booted" jobs - I personally created the term «botteux (booted guys)» in the 80s and am happy to see that it has been well propagated ... It will be regularly enriched.

Finally, the association of the Friends of the House of the Rubber Boot (A.M.B.C.) is an none profit making association which heads the whole thing and the museum. By joining it you will show your attachment to rubber boots, you support the project of the Museum-House of the Boot... and you benefit from the not insignificant advantages : video cassettes, post cards, possibility to purchase boots which are not available any more commercially, etc.
